Is Your Child In School?

We can offer any parent support and advice if you are concerned that your child may not be attending all of the lessons or is missing some days and half days.

Our Attendance Officer in the main school office is Christine Burnham. She has every student’s up to date attendance details on her computer. Please ring her on 0191 586 2140 if at any time you are concerned about attendance.

We also give out attendance prizes every term to honour those students who have maintained their level of attendance or improved it over the term. So if your child has brought one of these attendance certificates home with them, be sure to congratulate them on their achievement.

Sadly some times we have to inform our Education Welfare Officer about our concerns over the attendance of a very small number of students and this often results in a home or work place visit.

The very least that will happen is a phone call to home or work – so please make sure that we have both of these numbers in school.
