Easington Colliery and Horden are one of only four areas in the North East region to have been selected by the Government for an experimental approach to neighbourhood regeneration, and is one of only thirty five ‘Pathfinders’ in the whole of England to be selected.

This means that what happens in our area can influence what goes on in other parts of the country.
