As overall manager it's my job to advise and support the Pathfinder's management board in their continuous development and in their strategic efforts to: identify local needs and priorities; provide agencies and the community with a central point of contact; help co-ordinate and join up the activities of local service providers to improve services; help the community hold service providers to account, and; to work with county/local strategic and other partnerships towards the regeneration of the designated area of benefit.

As operations manager my main role is to create an effective communications plan to address both internal and external communications and ensure community involvement in the project.

My role is to ensure that the administration of the Pathfinder is completed in a professional and efficient manner. I make sure that letters are sent on time and systems are in place to find documents quickly.

I make sure that the administration of the project is completed in a timely manner and that everyone receives necessary information. I also complete notes for meetings held and prepare the ‘Buzz’ magazine.

Michelle Chapman
Programme Administration Officer

My name is Michelle Chapman, and I am Programme Administration Officer for the Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder in Easington Colliery and Horden. I joined the team in August 2005 and am responsible for providing administrative and clerical support and assistance to the Neighbourhood Manager and Deputy Neighbourhood Manager in the management and development of the Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder programme.

NVQ Placement

I work for the Pathfinder once a week on a placement while I am training. My general duties include answering the telephone, typing and general admin. I will be at the Pathfinder for a year and hope to further my career with the experience with the skills I will have gained.

My role is to work proactively with the Partnership to challenge them to operate effectively in a strategic, inclusive and cohesive manner and, through a clearly understood performance management system, evidencing that they are contributing to the Neighbourhood Renewal Agenda. To advise on Government policy and to work with the partnership to focus on improved delivery at neighbourhood level and to encourage engagement of marginalised groups

Adrienne Taylor
Lead Neighbourhood Renewal Advisor

I am the neighbourhood renewal advisor for this NMP. This means I advise, mentor and coach the team members as appropriate to ensure that the NMP is appraised of the most current policy developments and can reflect this in its day to day work. Both Board and staff ensure that I feel very much part of the team and this has maximised the effectiveness of this role. I have been actively involved in the Performance Management and its board development programme.
